Johnny Depp recently found solace after losing his defamation case against Amber Heard by entering into a relationship with Joelle Rich, his defamation lawyer from London who represented him during this trial. Rich has represented a variety of high-profile clients.

Depp sought her assistance during his court battle with Heard over her Washington Post op-ed detailing her own experiences of abuse. Although there were rumors she and Depp may have had romantic ties, she denied them.

She reportedly showed up to support Johnny Depp during his successful defamation trial against Amber Heard earlier this year, though she did not represent him in court. She could often be found outside and inside of courthouse as well as hugging Camille Vasquez who represented Depp; later it was discovered that they are dating.

Though their meeting remains unknown, sources indicate they’ve been meeting secretly in hotels during the early stages of their relationship. A source claims they’re very attracted to each other and spending lots of time together; yet neither have commented publicly about rumors surrounding their affair.

Joelle Rich has been very supportive of Johnny Depp since his libel case against The Sun was filed. She even made numerous appearances in Virginia court during Heard’s defamation trial against The Sun; although not formally part of his legal team, she could often be seen hugging Vasquez inside.

Johnny Depp was recently seen dating Joelle Rich, his London attorney who represented him during his court battle with British tabloid The Sun. It appears as though their bond has strengthened during this legal dispute; and now appears as though it is real.

Sources close to the couple confirmed in an exclusive statement with US Weekly that they are dating, adding that their chemistry is “off the charts,” making them “the real deal.”

Rumors surrounding Depp’s romantic life have long swirled; just last year he was linked to Camille Vasquez, his attorney from Heard’s domestic violence case against Depp; however both she and Vasquez denied this possibility saying there was no romantic interest between them.

Heard made accusations against Depp during his trial that he physically assaulted her, filing a sworn declaration with the court stating he threw a cellphone at her and hit her on the face, as well as providing a photo of his bruised visage to show how severe it was. She later dropped these allegations when receiving a restraining order against her husband.

After her divorce, Heard published an op-ed in The Washington Post detailing her history of abuse at the hands of her former partner, Johnny Depp. Though Heard did not name Depp directly in her piece, Depp nevertheless sued for $50 million alleging that it harmed his career. To defend herself Heard invoked Virginia’s anti-SLAPP laws – laws protecting individuals against lawsuits over public speech – which granted her immunity in court and led the judge to rule in her favor.

Page Six reports that London-based attorney Joelle Rich was on Depp’s team in his 2020 libel case against The Sun; unfortunately, court sided against Depp by ruling allegations were “substantially true”. Depp attempted to appeal but failed.

According to reports, it was recently announced that Johnny Depp is dating Joelle Rich, his attorney representing him against Amber Heard for defamation in 2020 against The Sun UK libel suit. Brown Rudnick LLP represents him currently for this ongoing case against Heard.

Depp and Heard have been at odds in court due to comments Heard made in an op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post, which were widely understood to be about him. Depp sued Heard for $50 million while she filed her own claim of $100 million against Depp; trial concluded this week with a jury finding both parties liable on three of Depp’s claims but one on Heard’s alone.

Depp’s lawyers Camille Vasquez and Ben Chew have garnered significant social media buzz during this seven-week trial for their tough cross examination of Heard. Vasquez is a partner at Brown Rudnick; her aggressive questioning style has been described as torture by some media outlets. Her specialty lies in defamation cases; however, she also has experience litigating contract disputes, business-related torts, and employment-related claims.

Stephanie Calnan and Rebecca MacDowell Lecaroz, Heard’s attorneys, have also been actively engaged. According to her bio on Brown Rudnick website, Stephanie Calnan possesses experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration proceedings as well as intellectual property litigation cases and class actions.

Lecaroz was formerly the Dillard Fellow at the University of Virginia School of Law, with experience defending clients in high-stakes litigation in both state and federal courts. Her expertise lies in handling cases involving complex contractual, insurance, and trade secret misappropriation matters.

Relationship

Johnny Depp has had numerous high-profile romantic relationships during his years in Hollywood. He has been linked with some of Hollywood’s biggest names like Winona Ryder and Kate Moss; Amber Heard accused him of domestic abuse during their relationship. According to Depp, Heard was angry over him drinking again and so Depp responded by throwing bottles of liquor at her while also throwing cigarettes unprovoked at her.

Depp’s lawyers claim he is the subject of false, malicious and reckless allegations made against him by Heard and her legal representation. According to them, Heard has suffered financially as a result of continued coverage in their case. Depp denies all accusations of abuse made against him in court proceedings.

Rich was not part of Depp’s legal team in his defamation case against Heard; however, she represented him during his libel lawsuit against The Sun in 2020. Depp hired Rich for both cases; she represented Depp against The Sun for calling him a wife beater but ultimately lost both suits; court upheld article as “substantially true”. Later Heard testified about these accusations which have since caused legal drama between them; Heard has filed suit for defamation against Depp as they engage in legal battle in Virginia over these allegations which she claims are becoming truthful; thus beginning their current legal battle over allegations made by each side against each other.
